Job Description

Orthopedic Physical Therapist – Weekday Outpatient Role

Physical Therapist Job in Piscataway, NJ

We are recruiting a full-time Orthopedic Physical Therapist for an outpatient physical therapy office in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Pay: $90,000–$100,000 annually, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Patient Schedule: Approximately 1–2 patients per hour
Practice Type: Orthopedic Outpatient Physical Therapy

Position Overview

This position is well suited for a PT who enjoys working directly with orthopedic patients throughout the rehabilitation process.

You'll assess patients experiencing pain, weakness, limited range of motion, post-surgical restrictions, or difficulty completing daily activities. From there, you'll create and carry out treatment programs focused on improving movement and helping patients work toward practical functional goals.

The role combines clinical assessment, exercise-based rehabilitation, patient education, progress monitoring, and clear documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and follow-up physical therapy assessments
  • Develop treatment plans for patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Provide therapeutic exercise, strengthening, stretching, balance, and mobility interventions
  • Use manual therapy techniques when indicated
  • Monitor functional improvement throughout the course of care
  • Update treatment approaches based on patient response and clinical findings
  • Provide clear home exercise and self-management instructions
  • Complete required clinical notes and progress documentation
  • Coordinate with referring providers as appropriate
  • Valid Physical Therapist license
  • DPT degree or MSPT degree
  • Previous outpatient PT experience
  • Working knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation
  • Ability to communicate treatment goals clearly with patients
