Job Description

Hotel Royal Oak | Royal Oak, Michigan
Full-Time or Part-Time | 11:00 PM–7:00 AM | Hourly + Tips

Hotel Royal Oak is looking for a dependable, personable Night Auditor who can deliver excellent overnight guest service and also support our growing cocktail program.

This is not a traditional sit-behind-the-desk hotel job. Our lobby is a social space, our bar is part of the guest experience, and overnight staff play an important role in keeping the entire property running smoothly. The right person is confident working independently, comfortable making drinks, good with people, and calm when the unexpected happens.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome guests and complete overnight check-ins and check-outs
  • Answer phones, assist with reservations, and respond to guest questions
  • Complete the nightly audit and verify payments, reports, and account balances
  • Monitor the property and address overnight guest or security concerns
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic drinks during applicable service hours
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar and front desk
  • Process payments accurately through our hotel and point-of-sale systems
  • Assist with light breakfast setup and prepare the hotel for the morning shift
  • Complete shift reports and communicate important updates to management
  • Create a welcoming experience for hotel guests and local bar patrons
  • Follow all alcohol-service, safety, cash-handling, and hotel policies

You’ll Be Great Here If You

  • Are dependable and comfortable working overnight from 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Can work independently and make sound decisions without constant supervision
  • Have previous hotel, front desk, bartending, or customer-service experience
  • Are confident handling guest concerns in a calm and professional way
  • Enjoy talking with people and creating a fun but polished atmosphere
  • Can multitask without losing attention to detail
  • Are comfortable learning new technology and reservation systems
  • Have reliable transportation and consistent attendance
  • Are at least 21 years old
  • Can stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds

Previous night-audit experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a strong hospitality or bartending candidate with the right attitude and attention to detail. Bartending experience and knowledge of classic cocktails are strongly preferred.
