Entry Level Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Hybrid; Mon/Fri Remote & Tues-Thursday Onsite weekly
Contract length: 6 month contract to hire and direct hire opportunities available
Role Overview
This position is for an entry-level candidate who will be responsible for detailed electrical design throughout the product development life-cycle. The role involves working closely with various cross-functional groups to ensure a properly designed product from concept to production. This position may occasionally be involved in enhancement and sustaining projects for legacy products.
Key Responsibilities

• Design analog and digital hardware to receive agency approvals (UL, CSA, ATEX, IEC, MSHA, etc.).
• Define and execute system-level specifications and requirements.
• Establish strategic direction for electrical designs.
• Develop technical design documentation.
• Troubleshoot new and legacy designs.
• Follow, enforce, and mature corporate engineering processes.
• Develop and present materials for design reviews and champion design for manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability.
• Design legacy product upgrades.
• Provide training in the technical use and servicing of new designs.
• Participate collaboratively in cross-functional product development teams.
• Act as a central liaison with quality assurance during product testing.

Required Qualifications
Education: A minimum of a BSEE from an accredited engineering college or university is required.
Technical Skills:

• Proven success with low-level analog circuit design.
• Proven success with digital hardware design with micro-controllers.
• Ability to develop schematics and layout in Altium.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team while also meeting individual responsibilities.

Professional Skills

• Able to work effectively in a formal product development team environment.
• Able to exercise independent, sound judgment and decision-making.
• Able to commit to and work under deadlines.
• Demonstrated understanding of Stage-Gate development process.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage third-party on and off-shore development teams when needed.
