We are hiring a Data Center Technician in Athens/ New Albany, OH for a contract opportunity supporting a leading global telecommunications and networking organization. This position will work in customer data centers and co-location environments, supporting fiber-optic infrastructure, optical transport, installations, migrations, remediation, break/fix, and remote-hands services.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Data Center Technician who enjoys being hands-on while also taking ownership of work quality. You will serve as an important interface between the customer, vendors, and technical teams-performing and auditing installations, troubleshooting optical connectivity, and ensuring work is completed according to engineering and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong fiber and optical-testing experience, can lead work in the field, and is comfortable traveling up to 50%, including occasional multi-week assignments in other markets.

Contract Duration: Long-Term Contract

Required Skills & Experience
3-15 years of data center operations, field services, or similar technical experience
Hands-on experience with single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling
Experience with LC connectors, fan-outs, and structured cabling
Experience with fiber installation, migration, decommissioning, remediation, and break/fix
Hands-on experience with optical testing and troubleshooting
Experience using optical power meters, VFLs, OTDRs, light sources, and/or optical test sets
Ability to read and execute Methods of Procedure (MOPs), engineering documents, network diagrams, and cut sheets
Team lead or technical lead experience
Strong customer-facing communication and documentation skills
Ability to travel up to 50%, including short-notice travel and multi-week assignments
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and work at heights
Must not have been employed by Ericsson within the past 2 years

Desired Skills & Experience
Experience working in customer data centers and co-location facilities
Optical transport/network infrastructure experience
Experience auditing third-party technician/vendor work
Strong cable management and physical network installation experience
Experience with customer ticketing systems and Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of data center safety, quality, and operational standards
