Title: Lead .NET Developer / Technical Lead
Location: Mechanicsville, VA – Hybrid (1–2 days onsite/week)
Employment: W2 Only – No C2C / No 1099
Work Authorization: Open to all valid work statuses
Duration: Long-term contract with potential extensions
Local Candidates Only: Must currently live within 2 hours of Mechanicsville, VA. No relocation.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lead .NET Developer / Technical Lead with strong hands-on experience in .NET/C#, SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

The candidate will provide technical leadership for a modernization initiative involving microservices, database modernization, API development, SQL engineering, and data migration.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of overall IT experience
• 7+ years of SQL Server development
• 5+ years of .NET/C# backend development
• 3–5 years of Technical Lead experience
• 3+ years of Azure Data Factory (ADF) experience
• 3+ years building ADF pipelines and supporting ETL workloads
• 3+ years of Azure SQL on IaaS VM environments
• Strong T-SQL, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance tuning
• Experience with .NET APIs and backend services
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with modernization and migration projects
• Agile delivery experience
• Strong technical leadership, code review, and technical design experience

Preferred:

• State government or transportation experience
• Regulated or audited environments
• PCI/security/compliance experience
• Microservices modernization experience

Important: Candidates must already be local to the Mechanicsville, VA area and be willing to work onsite 1–2 days per week. No relocation candidates.
