Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Westborough, MA
Type: Contract w/ extension or Conversion possible
Pay: 85-95K (42-48/hr)

Position Description:
You will be responsible for NPI and scalability to transition a wide range of products from design to production. You will work cross-functionally to develop suppliers, manage product lifecycle changes, lead product quality improvement projects, and drive to technical root cause in supplier quality activities.
Summary: Design and implement world-class manufacturing solutions that transition cutting-edge robotics products from concept to production at scale, driving quality excellence across global supply chains.

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field is required
Technical Skills: Minimum of 2 years of experience as Manufacturing or Process Engineer. Experience with CAD software, technical drawing interpretation, and an understanding of statistical process control are necessary for this role.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), or Design for X principles.
- Utilize experience with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, or electronics assembly.
- Work with contract manufacturers and manage supplier relationships.
- Implement quality systems and methodologies including Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement principles.
- Use CAD software for design tasks and interpret technical drawings.
- Apply understanding of statistical process control and capability analysis.
Your day might include:
- Reviewing design specifications with product teams and providing DFX feedback to optimize manufacturability
- Conducting supplier assessments and capability studies at contract manufacturer facilities
- Leading failure analysis investigations and implementing corrective actions for quality issues
- Developing test fixtures and validation protocols for new product introductions
- Collaborating with international teams across Seattle, Asia, and Europe on NPI activities
Required Qualifications

- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience with robotics, mechatronics, or electromechanical systems manufacturing.
- Experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from prototype to mass production.
- Knowledge of test engineering principles and automated test equipment development.
- Experience with failure analysis techniques including FMEA, 8D, and root cause corrective action.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and smart manufacturing systems.
- Experience working in global manufacturing environments.
- Project management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
