Job Description

Akkodis is seeking an Mechanical Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Tulsa, OK. The ideal candidate must have experience in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, FAA Repair Station operations, and engineering project execution, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $80/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mechanical Engineer job responsibilities include:
  • Support FAA Repair Station activities by developing and implementing engineering solutions for component repairs and maintenance operations.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility, troubleshoot engineering issues, and provide timely resolutions to production and operational challenges.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects while defining project scope, milestones, schedules, and customer requirements.
  • Develop repair solutions, engineering documentation, and technical recommendations in accordance with FAA regulations, industry standards, and customer specifications.
  • Perform engineering analyses, including structural assessments and finite element analysis (FEA), to support repair and certification activities.
  • Review product designs and repair processes to ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve design, testing, manufacturing, and certification-related issues.
  • Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements while promoting operational excellence.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related Engineering discipline required.
  • 3+ years of experience within a regulated industry, preferably:
    • Aerospace, Aviation, Defense, FAA-Regulated Environments.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Engineering Design Principles, Mechanical Systems, FAA Repair Processes, Aerospace Standards, Technical Documentation.
  • Experience with:
    • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Engineering Project Management
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Technical Problem Solving
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of FAA certification requirements and FAR regulations.
  • Experience supporting FAA Part 145 Repair Station operations.
  • Aerospace or Defense industry experience.
  • Experience developing FAA-approved repair solutions or working with Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs).
  • Strong customer-facing experience and proven ability to build positive client relationships.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $80.00 per hour
