POSITION PURPOSE:
The Baking & Pastry Chef is responsible for creating and producing high-quality baked goods, pastries, and desserts while maintaining consistent standards of taste, presentation, freshness, and food safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
• Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, pies, desserts, and other baked goods.
• Develop and execute new recipes and seasonal menu items.
• Maintain consistent quality, flavor, texture, appearance, and portion sizes.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes and production requirements.
• Manage daily baking and pastry production to ensure products are fresh and available on schedule.
• Decorate and finish pastries and desserts with attention to detail and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary baking area in accordance with food-safety standards.
• Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality.
• Monitor inventory and communicate ingredients and supply needs to management.
• Operate and maintain ovens, mixers, proofers, refrigeration equipment, and other bakery equipment safely.
• Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and company policies.
• Previous professional baking or pastry experience
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, measurements, and food safety.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Creativity and a passion for developing high-quality baked goods.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move baking ingredients and equipment as required.
• Ability to work early morning hours
• Ability to lift 20lbs or more
