Job description

Founded in the Queensland outback in 1920, Qantas has grown to be Australia’s largest regional, domestic, and international airline. Qantas has a range of subsidiary businesses that support the overall operations of the Group. The Qantas Group’s main business is the transportation of customers and freight using two complementary airline brands — Qantas and Jetstar — operating regional, domestic, and international services.

  • Lead a team at the heart of the Cabin Crew operation
  • Drive continuous improvement through technology and AI
  • Influence meaningful outcomes for our people and our business

The impact you'll make

Behind every successful operation is a team of people making things happen. In this role, you'll lead a group of experienced professionals who provide critical support to our Cabin Crew community, helping ensure the right processes, systems and support are in place to keep the operation running smoothly.

You'll be a trusted partner to both your team and business leaders, creating strong connections, driving continuous improvement and helping turn good ideas into meaningful outcomes. Success in this role is about more than delivering projects or improving processes. It's about bringing people with you on the journey.

Meet the team

The Cabin Crew Support Team sits at the centre of a wide range of administrative, operational and people-related activities that help keep our Cabin Crew operation running smoothly.

Leading a team of three experienced Cabin Crew Support Consultants, along with a close working relationship with Base Coordinators across the network, you'll play an important role in connecting frontline support teams with senior leadership priorities.

Reporting to our newly created Manager Operations & Enablement role, you'll support a range of initiatives focused on improving how we engage with and support our Cabin Crew workforce. While engagement is an important focus, this role is equally about ensuring the fundamentals are delivered well, from governance and administration through to process improvement, project delivery and operational support.

While much of the team's work happens behind the scenes, its impact is felt every day across our operation. The Cabin Crew Support Team provides the support, information and processes that help our crew focus on what they do best: delivering safe and exceptional experiences for our customers.

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in complex administrative, operational support or service delivery environments.
  • Champion smarter ways of working by using technology and AI-enabled solutions to reduce manual effort, improve efficiency and support better business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn insights into action.
  • A pragmatic and adaptable leadership style, knowing when to be hands-on and when to empower others.
  • Experience working with governance, compliance and policy-driven processes.
  • A genuine commitment to developing people, creating accountability and fostering a positive team culture.
  • The judgement to balance operational delivery, team engagement and continuous improvement.
