Job Description

Job role: Finance Business Manager
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 plus excellent benefits
Location:Buckinghamshire
Working pattern: Onsite once a week, 4 days from home
Hours: 35 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Manager to play a key role in delivering high-quality financial planning, forecasting and business insight across a respected membership-focused organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across an organisation with annual income of approximately £20 million. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will manage a small team of Finance Business Partners and play a key role in supporting senior leaders with financial insight, forecasting and strategic decision-making.

As the Finance Manager, you will be required to:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities across the organisation.
  • Manage, coach and develop a small team of Finance Business Partners, ensuring the delivery
  • Take responsibility for forecasting and modelling income budgets of a similar scale, approximately £20m+, ensuring robust assumptions and clear financial insight.
  • Deliver meaningful financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Lead quarterly forecasting processes and support annual budget planning
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, acting as a trusted business partner
  • Provide challenge and support to budget holders and senior leaders
  • Manage and develop members of the finance team
  • Support the effective management of multiple income streams and associated financial reporting

We're looking for someone with:

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Significant experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience managing, modelling and forecasting income budgets of approximately £20m or a similar level of organisational complexity.
  • Previous experience leading and developing a small finance team, with responsibility for prioritisation, coaching and performance management.
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent financial income modelling and advanced Excel capability.
  • The ability to turn complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders.
  • Experience within a professional membership body, charity, awarding organisation or other not-for-profit environment would bedesirable.
  • Experience working with income streams such as membership subscriptions, qualifications, events, publications, deferred income or partial VAT environments would be beneficial.
