Job Description

Seeking a Senior Oracle SQL Data Analyst with strong experience developing Oracle SQL solutions against large, normalized transactional databases. This role is heavily focused on hands-on SQL development (70 80%), including writing complex SQL and PL/SQL from scratch, analyzing business requirements, and delivering operational reporting and data analysis. This is not a Business Intelligence or Dashboard Development role.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of Oracle SQL development against transactional databases
  • 5+ years writing complex SQL (Joins, CTEs, Subqueries, CASE statements, Aggregate & Analytic Functions)
  • 5+ years working with normalized relational database design and table relationships
  • 3+ years translating business requirements into SQL solutions
  • 3+ years developing automated SQL jobs and scheduled database processes
  • 3+ years supporting operational reporting and data analysis

Highly Desired Skills

  • 3+ years of Oracle PL/SQL (Procedures, Functions, Packages, Views)
  • 5+ years of SQL troubleshooting, query optimization, and data validation
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools
  • Experience working with large, high-volume transactional database environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs.
  • Write simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle databases.
  • Analyze business requirements and determine appropriate tables, relationships, joins, and business rules.
  • Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting and research.
  • Develop and maintain automated SQL processes and scheduled database jobs.
  • Troubleshoot SQL scripts, automated jobs, and data quality issues.
  • Create efficient, reusable, and well-documented SQL code.
  • Support recurring operational reports, KPIs, and analytical requests.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand reporting requirements.
  • Support Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid position
  • Candidate must report on-site on Day 1 for orientation and equipment pickup.
  • On-site interview required.
  • Long-term contract with potential extensions.
