Technical Project Manager - AI Initiatives in Orlando, FL
Role Description
AI Initiative Intake & Requirements Gathering
Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI, automation, generative AI, and AI-enabled tooling. Lead discovery sessions and workshops to understand current-state processes, business challenges, desired outcomes, and potential AI use cases. Gather, document, and refine business, functional, technical, data, security, and operational requirements for AI initiatives.
Translate business needs into clearly defined use cases, project requirements, success criteria, and measurable outcomes. Work with technical teams to determine whether proposed AI solutions are feasible based on available technology, data, integrations, infrastructure, and organizational capabilities. Identify dependencies, assumptions, constraints, risks, and gaps early in the discovery process. Ensure stakeholders are aligned on the problem being solved before moving AI initiatives into development or implementation.
AI Initiative Prioritization & Roadmap Management
Manage and maintain a pipeline of AI opportunities and initiatives across multiple business functions. Establish a consistent framework for evaluating and prioritizing AI initiatives based on factors such as business value, ROI, strategic alignment, technical feasibility, implementation effort, data readiness, risk, security, and time to value. Facilitate prioritization discussions with business and technology leaders when multiple teams or initiatives are competing for resources.
Help distinguish between AI ideas that are ready for execution, require additional discovery, or should be deferred. Partner with leadership to develop and maintain an enterprise AI initiative roadmap. Provide visibility into the status, priority, dependencies, and expected value of AI initiatives across the organization. Prepare recommendations and executive-level presentations to support investment and prioritization decisions. Project Planning & Estimation
Facilitate scope definition, discovery, planning, and estimation workshops for AI-related projects.
Develop project schedules, roadmaps, milestones, communication plans, and resource plans. Partner with technical and functional leads to estimate resources, costs, timelines, and dependencies. Document assumptions and dependencies established during discovery and estimation. Coordinate across business teams, Product, Technology, Data/Analytics, Information Security, Architecture, Legal/Compliance, and external vendors as appropriate. Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical AI teams, ensuring business requirements and priorities remain clear throughout delivery.
Manage project scope, schedule, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and change control. Monitor progress against agreed-upon milestones and escalate risks or roadblocks requiring leadership decisions. Skills & Requirements
5+ years of relevant project, program, or technical project management experience. Experience leading complex, cross-functional technology initiatives in a large or matrixed organization. Demonstrated experience managing AI, generative AI, machine learning, automation, data, or emerging-technology initiatives strongly preferred.
Strong experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather, document, validate, and prioritize complex requirements. Ability to translate business problems into clearly defined technology use cases and actionable project requirements. Experience establishing prioritization frameworks and managing a portfolio or pipeline of competing technology initiatives. Strong understanding of the AI project lifecycle, including use-case discovery, data readiness, proof of concept, pilot, testing, governance, implementation, adoption, and measurement.
Familiarity with enterprise AI tooling and platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, OpenAI/LLM solutions, AI assistants or agents, automation platforms, and enterprise data/analytics environments. Ability to evaluate AI opportunities based on business value, feasibility, implementation effort, risk, data availability, and organizational readiness. Strong understanding of core project management disciplines, including estimation, project planning, resource planning, issue management, risk management, change management, and communication planning.
Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and managing multiple projects concurrently. Experience partnering with Product, Technology, Data, Security, Architecture, Legal/Compliance, and business teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to bring structure to loosely defined or emerging AI opportunities. Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable working through ambiguity. Strong judgment regarding when to make decisions independently, when to seek guidance, and when to escalate risks or issues.
