Job Description
MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Linux System Administrator to join our team in Laurel, MD. You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO's Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a System Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administer, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems to ensure high performance and reliability. Responsible for OS installation, system health and security integrity, network component configuration, and executing continuous system enhancements.
- Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
- Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and will remain involved in the resolution process.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
- Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in technical discipline is required. Five (5) years of additional System Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- 20+ years' experience as a System Administration in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading Systems Administration/Engineering efforts is required
- Must be proficient troubleshooting in a Linux environment
- Experience with VMware
- IAT I certification (DoD 8140 required within 60 days of starting employment. Acceptable certifications include A+ CE/CCNA-Security/CND/Network+ CE /CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP) Preferred Qualifications:
- Based on program and technical requirements, evaluates and recommends appropriate hardware, software and services solutions.
- Experience/familiarization with full lifecycle management of Linux systems, to include provisioning, configuration management and patching.
- Red Hat Certified System Administration Certification.
- Experience with NetAPP Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
