SUMMARY
Alto is a Catholic monthly periodical that combines the daily mass readings, liturgy of the hours, and reflections from Catholic creators. The periodical just launched this year and has been growing quickly!
This print production role oversees all manufacturing aspects of the physical book process and manages printer relationships; collaborates with editorial and production teams to determine printing specifications and resolve production issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own print specifications, production schedules, and quality assurance for Alto
- Coordinate with the project team on print schedules and requirements
- Work with designers to thoroughly review layouts, artwork, and print-ready PDFs before they go to the printer — checking size, formatting, and color accuracy
- Manage and maintain relationships with a diverse set of vendors/printers around the world
- Work directly with Alto resellers, distributors, and bulk sale customers to ensure needs are met
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal staff to ensure accurate purchase quantities and on-time customer delivery each month
- Own the customer list for Alto and coordinate with internal staff to submit to printer each month
- Occasional travel to Exton, PA and print vendors required
- Strong attention to detail; print production is all about the details!
- Strong visual design / aesthetic judgement
- Experience in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Knowledge of graphic design, particularly book layout and production, and current printing technologies
- Experience with book or other manufacturing processes
- Effective coordination with external vendors to hit delivery timelines
- Ability to travel to the Ascension office in Exton, PA, occasionally.
