Job Description

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist II for an Onsite position with a Leading Biotechnology Company located in South San Francisco, CA. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.

Join a cutting-edge research team as a vital member of the Viral Vector Core, driving the production, analytics, and development of next-generation viral vectors. This role supports the gene therapy pipeline, contributes to innovative therapeutic modalities, and facilitates the research community in applying viral vectors as powerful research tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality viral vector core services, including the end-to-end production of lentiviral libraries and Adeno-associated virus (AAV)
  • Perform robust downstream viral vector analytics
  • Maintain a meticulously organized virus inventory and registry utilizing digital informatics platforms to ensure data integrity and traceability
  • Assist with the engineering, production, and technology development of our client's viral vectors and emerging viral-based modalities
  • Actively participate in the advanced in vitro and in vivo genome engineering using CRISPR/Cas9 systems

Requirements:
  • MS or PhD degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Genetics, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of laboratory research experience
  • Proficient in mammalian cell culture and general molecular biology techniques such as transient plasmid transfection, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, dPCR and Western blot
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired skills:
  • Working experience with lentivirus or AAV production and application
  • Experience with CRISPR technology for genome editing
  • Experience with flow cytometer operations and electronic notebooks
  • Proficiency in data analysis and computational programming

Pay range: up to $67.20 per hour
