Power Platform Developer - 6 months - Central London (Hybrid) - £560 per day Inside IR35 - SC Clearance

A government department is bringing greater ownership of its Power Platform estate in-house, and is seeking an experienced Power Platform Developer to stabilise, support and enhance an existing secure portal build while building the capability of the internal development team. The current build was originally delivered by an external supplier, and this role is central to reducing that dependency - resolving live incidents directly, delivering enhancements, and structurally transferring knowledge so the department isn't left reliant on external resource going forward. You'll review the existing Power Apps/Power Pages solution, carry a genuine caseload of L2/L3 support incidents from day one, and take ownership of Power BI reporting across the business. Please note, SC clearance is needed for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review the existing Power Apps/Power Pages solution and identify areas for improvement
• Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents and deliver fixes
• Develop small enhancements and improvements across Power Apps, Power Pages, Dataverse and Power Automate
• Design, build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards using data from Dataverse and other relevant sources
• Develop and optimise Power BI data models, measures, visualisations and reporting outputs
• Build, troubleshoot and optimise Copilot Studio plugins and relevant integrations
• Ensure application, integration and reporting changes are compatible with the current automation and testing framework
• Upskill internal developers through coaching, code reviews and knowledge transfer

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong experience with Power Apps (Model-driven & Canvas) and Power Pages
• Strong Power BI development experience, including report/dashboard creation, data modelling and integration with Dataverse and other data sources
• Experience developing and maintaining Copilot Studio plugins, actions and API integrations
• Deep knowledge of Dataverse, security roles, entity permissions, authentication and site configurations
• Familiarity with Power Automate, custom connectors and ALM practices
• Understanding of Power BI security, including workspace management and Row-Level Security where applicable
• Proficient in Scripting and client-side customisation
• Strong troubleshooting skills for live system support

Desirable Experience:

• Experience transitioning vendor-built Power Platform solutions into internal ownership
• Experience delivering Power BI reporting as part of wider Power Platform solutions
• Understanding of automation requirements and testability for Power Platform solutions
• Ability to train and mentor junior developers/testers
• Experience supporting reporting requirements from initial business need through to production deployment
