Job Description

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations of a high-availability AWS data center. You will manage a team of engineers and technicians, ensure uptime and capacity, and coordinate incident response, maintenance, and change management. Responsibilities include monitoring infrastructure health, optimizing performance, enforcing security and safety standards, and driving operational excellence using data and metrics. You will collaborate with global AWS teams, implement process improvements, support new service launches, and develop talent in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of an AWS data center ensuring high availability and uptime
  • Manage, mentor, and schedule data center engineers and technicians
  • Oversee incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for infrastructure issues
  • Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance and capacity upgrades
  • Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and utilization using metrics and dashboards
  • Implement and enforce security, safety, and compliance standards within the facility
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational automation
  • Partner with global AWS teams to support new service launches and infrastructure changes
  • Manage vendor relationships and on-site work for hardware and facilities services
  • Develop and report operational KPIs to leadership, ensuring customer-focused outcomes
