Job Description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst specializing in Microsoft Power Query, Advanced Excel, and Power BI to support enterprise analytics for our client, BluePrint, servicing a premier international HVAC manufacturing conglomerate.
In this role, you will be responsible for extracting, cleansing, modeling, and transforming large volumes of supply chain, manufacturing, and operational data into automated, executive-ready reporting solutions. The ideal candidate has deep technical hands-on expertise in M-code, robust data transformation pipelines, and dimensional modeling.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Data Transformation & ETL: Architect, build, and optimize robust ETL pipelines using Microsoft Power Query (M Language) across Excel and Power BI to ingest multi-source data (ERP, CRM, flat files, SQL databases).
  • Data Modeling & Analytics: Develop and maintain dimensional data models (Star schemas), calculate complex metrics using DAX, and build dynamic interactive dashboards in Power BI.
  • Automation & Process Improvement: Replace manual spreadsheet maintenance with automated Power Query refresh workflows, reducing operational turnaround times and human error.
  • Operational & Supply Chain Reporting: Analyze large datasets related to HVAC production, inventory, logistics, field service operations, and warranty metrics to identify trends and operational bottlenecks.
  • Data Cleansing & Validation: Implement data validation checks, audit reconciliations, and error-handling routines within Power Query to ensure high data integrity.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional business stakeholders, operations managers, and data engineering teams to translate functional HVAC business requirements into technical reporting deliverables.
 
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of dedicated experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or Reporting roles.
  • Power Query & M-Code: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power Query (Excel & Power BI), including advanced M query authoring, custom functions, parameterization, and performance query tuning.
  • Power BI & DAX: Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop/Service, building relational data models, row-level security (RLS), and writing optimized DAX measures (Time Intelligence, Iterators, Filter Context).
  • Advanced Excel: Mastery of modern Excel formulas, Power Pivot, dynamic arrays, and macro/VBA familiarity for legacy integration.
  • Database & SQL: Strong working knowledge of SQL for data extraction, querying relational databases, and validating upstream source data.
  • Analytical Mindset: Proven track record of working with enterprise data sets, handling missing/dirty data, and establishing audit trails.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior industry experience within HVAC, Discrete Manufacturing, Industrial Equipment, or Global Supply Chain Operations.
  • Experience connecting to and transforming data from enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, or Power Automate workflows.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst).
