Job Description

We are partnering with a premier, global financial services institution in their search for an AML Compliance Analyst. This is a 9-month temporary role based in Canary Wharf, London, offering hybrid working and a day rate between £400 to £420 per day via Umbrella for the right candidate.

The Role

Sitting within the Investor Anti-Money Laundering team, you will oversee all aspects of Anti-Financial Crime processes and associated controls for direct and outsourced activities. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will play a critical role in managing complex AML cases, advising offshore locations, and driving key change initiatives as part of a wider anti-financial crime transformation program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversight & Due Diligence: Manage AML processes for new and existing investors, including complex KYC checks, transaction monitoring, screening, and oversight of outsourced functions.
  2. Transformation & Change: Support the development and implementation of UKTA’s anti-financial crime framework, leading large-scale client projects and financial crime change initiatives.
  3. Subject Matter Advisory: Act as an SME for local and offshore teams (Ireland/India), providing guidance on complex corporate structures including trusts, charities, pensions, and private companies (UBO identification).
  4. Escalations & Investigations: Lead, manage, and investigate complex AML and Fraud cases or complaints, using strong judgement to drive effective resolutions.
  5. Audit & Governance: Ensure processes meet stringent audit, risk, and compliance standards aligned with regulatory updates, covering AML Manager responsibilities when required.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships across Transfer Agency, Compliance, and Relationship Management, representing the team in meetings with senior internal and external stakeholders.

This role could be right for you if you have:

  1. Qualifications: Professionally recognised industry qualification(s) such as ICA, CAMS, or IOC.
  2. Experience: Proven track record in a senior AML Compliance or AML Operations role within financial services, fund administration, or transfer agency environments.
  3. Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of UK Money Laundering Regulations, financial crime legislation, and best practice guidance.
  4. Complex Structure Expertise: Strong background analysing complex corporate structures, trusts, charities, and identifying ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs).
  5. Project & Leadership Skills: Experience participating in or leading large-scale AML/financial crime projects, process enhancements, or transformation programs.
  6. Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to work independently under pressure.
