Job Description
Responsibilities
- Execute trades across credit, rates and FX, including corporate/sovereign bonds, CDX and related derivatives, IRS, local and hard currency bonds, and equities.
- Manage credit and rates exposures (e.g., Treasury/Bund) to optimise returns within mandates and policies.
- Source liquidity and execute block trades in primary and secondary credit and fixed income; maintain bank, broker and counterparty relationships.
- Coordinate with the Singapore desk to support a seamless follow‑the‑sun trading model.
- Oversee cash and collateral: minimise unremunerated cash, resolve overdrafts/settlements promptly, and manage liquidity funds and repos.
- Safeguard fund values, pricing, allocations and restrictions through robust controls; provide cover across desk workflows.
- Monitor credit spreads, EM equity and EM local currency debt; work with portfolio managers on instrument selection, credit views and curve positioning.
- Adhere to risk, compliance and regulatory requirements; maintain professional electronic communications.
Requirements
- 5–10 years’ front‑office credit trading experience in investment banking or asset management.
- Strong grounding in emerging markets fixed income, credit instruments and structural features; working knowledge of FX.
- Candidates with sales backgrounds who are interested in transitioning into trading will also be considered.
- Knowledge of issuance history, trading practices, counterparties and risk environment across covered countries.
- High proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel/Word; familiarity with Thinkfolio (or similar OMS), TSOX, FXall and MarketAxess.
- Understanding of portfolio rules, policies and investment restrictions.
