Job description

THE ROLE AT A GLANCE

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our R&D organization, driving the planning, execution, and delivery of complex product and engineering initiatives. This role requires a product-minded PM who has operated inside a strong product company — someone comfortable managing cross-functional delivery across Product, Engineering, Design, and QA, while keeping pace with a fast-moving, iterative R&D environment.

This is not a traditional PMO/services PM role. We are looking for someone who understands product development lifecycles and can manage delivery without slowing down innovation.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

– Own end-to-end planning and execution of R&D product initiatives, from scoping through release.

– Partner with Product Management and Engineering leads to define scope, timelines, and resourcing.

– Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.

– Track and communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and blockers to stakeholders and leadership.

– Manage cross-functional dependencies across Product, Engineering, Design, QA, and DevOps.

– Drive release planning and coordinate go-live/launch readiness activities.

– Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and schedule slippage.

– Maintain project documentation, roadmaps, and delivery plans.

– Support resource planning and capacity management across R&D teams.

– Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within delivery teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

8-10 years of Project Management experience, with meaningful tenure inside strong product companies — not primarily IT services or systems-integration organizations — delivering complex software/product initiatives in an Agile R&D environment. Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional delivery, balance speed with quality, and partner directly with Product Management and Engineering leadership.

Skill Area

What We're Looking For

Agile/Scrum Delivery

Sprint planning, release planning, and backlog and capacity management

Cross-Functional Program Management

Coordinating Product, Engineering, Design, and QA dependencies

Risk & Issue Management

Proactive identification, mitigation, and escalation of project risks

Stakeholder Communication

Clear, concise status reporting to engineering and executive stakeholders

Release Management

Go-live coordination, launch readiness, and post-release tracking

Product Development Lifecycle

Understanding of how product companies plan, build, and ship software

Tools

JIRA, Confluence, Asana/Monday, roadmap tools (Aha!, Productboard), and Azure DevOps

Leadership

Driving accountability and alignment across distributed, cross-functional teams

SOFT SKILLS

– Strong organizational and prioritization skills.

– Comfortable managing ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced R&D setting.

– Excellent communication and stakeholder management across technical and leadership audiences.

– Calm, solutions-oriented approach under pressure.

– Collaborative leadership style that earns trust across Product and Engineering teams.

PREFERRED / ADDED ADVANTAGE

– PMP, CSM, or SAFe certification.

– Prior experience at a recognized product company (B2B SaaS, platform, or consumer product organization).

– Experience managing delivery for platform, API, or infrastructure products.

– Exposure to OKRs and product-metrics-driven planning.

– Experience managing distributed/offshore-onshore engineering teams.

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS

– Must come from a strong product company background — candidates whose experience is primarily IT services, staffing, or systems integration will not be a fit for this role.

– Must demonstrate ownership of delivery outcomes, not just process facilitation.

– Must be comfortable operating directly with Product Management and Engineering leadership in a fast-paced R&D setting.
