Job Description

Founded in 2019, Swift supports Civilian, Defense, and Intelligence Community customers across the country and around the globe. We are looking for a Network / Cyber Security Engineer to join a dynamic program providing unique technology expertise to multiple mission areas across software development, data engineering, technical integration, network engineering, and quick reaction development. The technical work is hands-on, lab discovery focused, and multi-disciplinary. The work location is the Tidewater region of Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, test, and maintain secure operating systems, networks, and database environments
  • Support a wide range of network facilities including physical media, protocol stacks, routers, bridges, gateways, servers, telecommunications components, and network management systems
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for secure application and system design
  • Troubleshoot cybersecurity issues involving architecture, firewalls, data traffic, and access controls
  • Analyze systems for malware, misuse, and unauthorized activity, and provide network-based intrusion detection support
  • Apply encryption technologies, perform penetration testing, and conduct vulnerability and security research
  • Translate customer or product requirements into comprehensive systems solutions aligned with technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Establish and maintain system baselines and configuration management standards
  • Integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures; develop cybersecurity architectural artifacts; embed forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction; and resolve integration and testing challenges Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree preferred); equivalent experience considered
  • 10+ years of combined network engineering and cybersecurity experience
  • Strong understanding of DNS, firewall rules, routing protocols, and streaming protocols
  • Experience integrating nonstandard technologies with IP-based networks
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and removing network equipment across a wide range of manufacturers (beyond traditional vendors such as Cisco and Juniper)
  • Experience managing wireless access points and point to point wireless systems
  • Hands-on knowledge of installing and terminating copper and fiber media, including pulling cable through conduit
  • Proficiency using network analysis tools, along with experience using power tools and hand tools
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity-related ICDs, including ICD 503
  • Strong ability to present technical approaches and findings clearly
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups
  • US citizenship and active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance #LI-VM1 #Onsite
