ERP SAP Security Consultant

We are looking for an experienced ERP SAP Security Consultant to lead secure access design and governance across a complex SAP environment in Iowa. This long-term contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced individual who can align security architecture with audit expectations, operational needs, and enterprise risk standards. The role will work closely with business partners, compliance teams, technical groups, and external vendors to deliver reliable, well-controlled access solutions across SAP S/4HANA and related platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and oversight of SAP security frameworks, ensuring roles, authorizations, and user access models support business operations while maintaining strong control standards. Direct access governance activities across SAP S/4HANA and connected applications, including provisioning approaches, role maintenance, and identity management coordination. Manage Segregation of Duties risk processes by evaluating conflicts, recommending mitigating controls, and supporting emergency access and certification activities.

Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, Information Security, Basis, and functional teams to respond to audit requests and strengthen access control practices. Translate business and regulatory requirements into practical, secure, and supportable SAP authorization solutions that are ready for review and ongoing governance. Guide cross-functional teams and resources through complex security initiatives, helping align priorities, resolve issues, and maintain delivery timelines.

Analyze security incidents and access challenges, identify root causes, and recommend improvements that reduce risk and improve system integrity. Support security-related integration efforts involving SAP Fiori, SAP GRC, SAP HANA, SAP ERP, Master Data Governance, and other related SAP technologies as needed. Requirements
7+ years of hands-on experience in SAP security, including authorization architecture, role design, and user administration within enterprise SAP environments.

Strong background in SAP audit support, access controls, and the preparation of evidence and responses for compliance reviews. Demonstrated expertise with SAP GRC, including Segregation of Duties analysis, mitigating controls, emergency access management, and access certification. Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP HANA, SAP ERP, and related SAP applications and technologies. Ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into secure, scalable, and audit-aligned access solutions.

Proven leadership skills with experience coordinating resources, influencing stakeholders, and managing competing priorities effectively. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and risk assessment capabilities, with the judgment to make sound security decisions.
