Job Description

Duties

  • You will be responsible for ensuring that information processed, stored or transmitted by Command information systems is adequately protected with respect to confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy.
  • You will plan, implement, and manage a comprehensive IA program to ensure all computer systems and networks under Command purview are approved, operated, and maintained per DOD Information Technology Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • You will direct and oversee the information security incident response program.
  • You will provide oversight, technical support, and interpretation of DOD, Navy, and NAVSUP Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures for Next Generation (NGEN) contract execution. Requirements Conditions of employment

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position has been designated as a Cyber Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) role of (INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY MANAGER) proficiency level (INTERMEDIATE).
  • The incumbent must obtain the required credentials within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials.
  • The incumbent participate in a continuous learning (CL) program as described in SECNAVINST5239.20A and SECNAV M-5239.2
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.

Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition to showing experience demonstrating the four competencies above, your resume demonstrates one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices sufficient to provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues, as well as interpret IT policies, standards, and guidelines.

Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Applying a wide range of information security policies and protocols further enabling the protection of the entire network infrastructure; 2) Applying a wide variety of applications, operating system, protocols, and equipment used in customer organizations sufficient to provide advice, assistance and/or direction to customers; 3) Utilizing a comprehensive knowledge of computer hardware and software systems, ensuring hardware and software services meet network security standards; and 4) Ensuring compliance with IT security requirements by evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
