Job Description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Release Train Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role is responsible for optimizing the flow of work across a smaller Agile Release Train (ART) and is focused on serving the needs of the train to drive performance and growth at the program/portfolio level.
Responsibilities:
  • Managing multi-horizon roadmaps and tracking financials for the train
  • Managing incoming requests to coordinate project sizing and overall estimation efforts
  • Partnering with Senior Technology Managers and Portfolio Delivery Managers to ensure estimations are reviewed in a timely manner to refine and groom estimates for respective project teams
  • Assisting with resource planning by tracking and managing team capacity, aligning projected capacity with projected demand, and ensuring each team is fully utilized
  • Reporting to Technology Executives on train-view and team-view capacity utilization and projected demand
  • Planning and executing various ART ceremonies, such as quarterly Program Increment (PI) planning
  • Tracking dependencies and risks across sprint teams
  • Providing visibility into the health of epic-by-epic delivery, sprint-by-sprint reviews, and the monitoring the status of the overall program increment
  • Ensuring impediments to epic delivery are resolved quickly and protecting the teams from outside disruptions to delivery

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, framework, and best practices
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Expert user of JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and other collaboration tools
  • Proven financial acumen to evaluate demand and budgetary impacts both for project planning and for overall team funding requirements
  • Strong understanding of governance and compliance

Desired skills:
  • Technical understanding of APIs a plus
  • Knowledge of Open Banking / Open Finance a plus
  • Experience with event coordination and facilitating team-building activities is a plus

Pay range: $50.39 - $58.39 per hour
