Position Overview
The Senior PACS Technician will serve as the primary field technician supporting physical access control systems across multiple federal facilities. This role combines troubleshooting, maintenance, configuration, administration, and field support responsibilities.
The technician will be primarily based in Washington, DC, with regular travel to supported locations throughout the region.
Primary Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Physical Access Control Systems (PACS)
• Perform break/fix support and corrective maintenance activities
• Administer and manage badge credentialing systems
• Configure access levels, user permissions, and security groups
• Support PACS software administration and system maintenance
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across enterprise security environments
• Maintain and repair access control panels, reader infrastructure, locking hardware, cameras, and associated systems
• Support system upgrades, software updates, and license management
• Assist with construction, renovation, and installation activities involving PACS infrastructure
• Document maintenance activities and system changes
• Support emergency service requests and after-hours response when required
• Operate within federally regulated and compliance-driven environments

Required Qualifications
Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Physical Access Control Systems (PACS)
• Strong experience working in enterprise security environments
• Experience supporting low-voltage security systems and access control infrastructure
• Experience with:
  • Door hardware
  • Commercial locking systems
  • Access control panels
  • Cameras and video security systems
  • Server racks and network-connected security devices
  • Low-voltage electrical components

Required Certifications
Candidates must possess:

• Lenel Certified Associate (LCA)
• Lenel Certified Professional (LCP)
• Certified Systems Engineer ICAM PACS (CSEIP)
• Locksmith certification or equivalent demonstrated commercial locking and door hardware experience

Technical Skills
Proficiency in:

• PACS administration
• System installation and commissioning
• Programming and configuration of access control systems
• Windows operating systems and server environments
• System troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Credential enrollment and access management
• Security system lifecycle maintenance
• Industry best practices for physical security systems

Preferred Experience
Experience with one or more of the following platforms is highly desirable:

• LYNX Emergency Notification Systems
• American Dynamics
• Lighthouse
• Enterprise security platform integrations
• Federal facility security environments
• FISMA-compliant systems and operations

Security & Eligibility Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust eligibility
• Ability to qualify for a future security clearance if required
• Clean criminal and financial background strongly preferred

Work Environment

• Primary work location: Washington, DC
• Standard schedule:
  • Monday through Friday
  • Day shift hours
• Travel required between supported facilities
• Personal vehicle required during contract period
• Availability for occasional after-hours emergency support
