Job Description

Filtronic is a growing, award-winning technology company designing and manufacturing advanced RF, microwave and mmWave solutions for the Space, Aerospace, Defence and Telecommunications markets.

As we continue to grow, we are investing in our people, processes and systems to ensure we have the capability to scale effectively. This is an exciting opportunity to join Filtronic at an important stage of our growth and play a key role in shaping how our business systems support the organisation.

We are looking for an experienced Business Systems Transformation Manager to take ownership of the development, optimisation and integration of Filtronic’s core business systems.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring our systems, data and processes provide the operational capability, visibility and control required to support a growing and increasingly complex manufacturing business.

Working across Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Programmes, Finance and Quality, you will develop a strong understanding of our end-to-end business processes and translate business requirements into effective, scalable system solutions.

This is a hands-on role. You will shape the business systems roadmap while remaining directly involved throughout the delivery lifecycle, from requirements and solution design through configuration, testing, implementation and adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and develop Filtronic’s business systems roadmap, aligned with business growth and operational priorities.
  • Lead the implementation, optimisation and continuous improvement of core business systems.
  • Work closely with functional teams to understand processes, requirements, constraints and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate business requirements into effective system and process solutions.
  • Take a hands-on approach to system configuration, workflows, reporting, testing and issue resolution.
  • Lead system changes from initial requirements through design, UAT, implementation and successful adoption.
  • Identify and remove unnecessary manual processes, duplication and system workarounds.
  • Improve integration and information flow across the business systems landscape.
  • Establish robust data governance, master-data ownership and system controls.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards and management information to improve operational and management visibility.
  • Establish effective system administration, access, permissions and change controls.
  • Manage external system providers and implementation partners while retaining strong internal ownership and knowledge.
  • Develop internal capability through effective training, documentation and super-user networks.
  • Support the evaluation, selection and implementation of future business systems and technologies.
  • Ensure Filtronic’s systems landscape remains scalable and appropriate for the future needs of the business.

About You

You will be an experienced business systems professional with a strong combination of technical expertise, business process understanding and implementation experience.

You will have:

  • Significant experience in a Business Systems, ERP, Applications or Systems Transformation role.
  • A strong track record of implementing and improving ERP and wider enterprise systems.
  • Strong practical ERP expertise, including configuration, workflows, reporting, testing, troubleshooting and implementation.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or technology environment.
  • A strong understanding of operational processes including planning, supply chain, procurement, inventory, manufacturing and finance.
  • Experience integrating ERP with other business and operational systems.
  • Strong business analysis, process improvement and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience leading complex systems implementations and multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of data, reporting, master data and governance.
  • Experience managing external consultants and system partners while retaining internal ownership and accountability.
  • The ability to operate effectively from detailed system and process discussions through to engagement with the Leadership Team.
  • A track record of successfully embedding systems and process change within an organisation.
  • Applicants must be able to meet the requirements of the UK Government’s Security Clearance Vetting Procedure.

NetSuite experience would be advantageous, although experience of other leading ERP platforms within a manufacturing environment will also be highly relevant.

We are looking for someone who combines technical depth with strong commercial and operational understanding.

You will be comfortable moving between strategic priorities and detailed delivery, personally investigating problems, understanding system configuration and data, working with users to develop solutions and seeing changes through to successful implementation.

You will be proactive, delivery-focused and comfortable challenging existing processes where there is a better way of working. You will build credibility across the organisation and help Filtronic develop strong internal systems capability rather than becoming overly dependent on external providers.

If you are looking for a role where you can combine systems expertise, business transformation and hands-on delivery, we would like to hear from you.

  • Salary benchmarked at the top end of the market range to attract the strongest candidates.
  • 37.5 hour working week
  • 25 days’ holiday plus public holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 additional days
  • Contributory pension scheme with up to 8% company contribution
  • Life Assurance
  • Income Protection Insurance
  • Save As You Earn (SAYE) share scheme
  • Electric Vehicle (EV) scheme
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Volunteering day
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Hybrid working available
