Software Engineer

We are partnering with a growing global organization to identify an experienced Software Engineer to join its expanding Technology team in the Chicago western suburbs.

This is a hands-on full-stack development opportunity supporting business-critical applications, reporting solutions, APIs, integrations, and modernization initiatives within a complex global organization.

The ideal candidate will bring strong C#/.NET development experience, modern front-end capability, and solid SQL skills. This person should be comfortable working across both existing enterprise applications and new development, understanding complex business logic, troubleshooting production issues, and helping modernize systems over time.

Software Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise business applications.
• Build and enhance applications using C# and .NET.
• Develop front-end solutions using React, Angular, or comparable modern frameworks.
• Develop backend services, business logic, and data-processing solutions.
• Build and support REST APIs, web services, and system integrations.
• Develop SQL-based reporting and data solutions.
• Support reporting platforms such as SSRS and Power BI.
• Work directly with business users to understand processes and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Maintain and improve existing bespoke business applications.
• Troubleshoot application, system, and data issues.
• Support production applications, deployments, and releases.
• Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Contribute to workflow automation and process improvement.
• Participate in application and cloud modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with developers, integration engineers, infrastructure teams, analysts, vendors, and business stakeholders across a global Technology organization.

Software Engineer Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software-development experience.
• Strong C# and .NET experience.
• Full-stack application-development experience.
• Experience with React, Angular, or another modern front-end framework.
• Strong SQL Server and SQL-development skills.
• Experience building REST APIs and web services.
• Experience supporting enterprise business applications.
• Reporting experience using SSRS, Power BI, or comparable technologies is highly valued.
• Experience with Git and modern development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and understand complex business processes.
• Power Automate, Azure, cloud development, and integration experience are valuable but not required across the board.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
