The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment, including hostlers, cranes, and top loaders, to efficiently move shipping containers.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring precise placement and handling.
• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard according to operational needs.
• Conduct thorough pre and post-operation inspections of equipment to guarantee safety and functionality.
• Collaborate effectively with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and container moves.
• Maintain a steadfast commitment to upholding safety protocols and operational procedures within the yard.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this role.
• Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing ladders/stairs.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic communication skills and the capacity to function effectively as part of a team.
