The Role • Operate specialized heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, side loaders) to move shipping containers within an intermodal yard. • Load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks. • Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure safety and operational readiness. • Coordinate container movements and tasks with yard personnel and supervisors. • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established safety protocols. • Play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of freight. What You'll Need • A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and climbing ladders/stairs. • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including 2nd shift, weekends, and holidays. • Strong commitment to safety and a keen attention to detail. • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. • Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
