Senior Electrical Hardware Engineer - Aerospace & Defense

SAAB is seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team in Defense & Aerospace. You will lead design, analysis, and integration of complex electrical systems for cutting-edge defense platforms, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance with military standards. Partner with Systems Engineering to translate requirements into robust architectures and detailed schematics. Mentor junior engineers, drive design reviews, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver innovative, cost effective solutions that meet mission-critical needs while supporting Saab's culture of innovation, efficiency, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of complex electrical systems for defense and aerospace platforms
• Develop architectures, schematics, and PCB layouts meeting military and industry standards
• Perform power, signal integrity, and reliability analyses and support FMEAs
• Translate system-level requirements into detailed electrical design specifications
• Support system integration, lab bring-up, and debugging of hardware
• Prepare technical documentation, test plans, and compliance evidence
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and software teams on cross-functional designs
• Drive and participate in design reviews, ensuring quality and compliance
• Mentor and technically lead junior electrical engineers
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and certification bodies as needed
