About the Opportunity I'm working with a leading financial services organisation looking to hire an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer to join its growing technology team in London.

Key Responsibilities • Design, develop and maintain high-quality Java applications.
• Build scalable, reliable and high-performance software solutions.
• Work closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver new functionality.
• Contribute to technical design and architectural decisions.
• Develop clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
Key Requirements • Strong commercial experience developing applications using Java.
• Experience working within financial services, ideally investment banking, trading or capital markets.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and multithreaded applications.
• Experience developing high-performance, scalable software.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and design patterns.
• Experience working in collaborative engineering environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable Experience • Exposure to front-office or trading technology environments.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of messaging technologies and event-driven architectures.
• Experience working on complex, business-critical systems.
