Maintenance Engineer

A fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a globally successful logistics and automation company, working at an automated distribution centre for a well-known retailer in Hertfordshire.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working with modern automated systems and wants to be part of a technically strong engineering team. You'll play an important hands-on role in keeping a highly automated logistics operation running safely and efficiently.

The Package

• Salary: c£58k
• Panama shift pattern – 12-hour Days & Nights (6am–6pm / 6pm–6am)
• 24 shifts per year holiday
• 6% matched pension

The Role of Maintenance Engineer

Working as part of the site engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and supporting the automated logistics system, helping to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out hands-on reactive and planned maintenance across automated equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
• Supporting the smooth and efficient running of the automated logistics system
• Keeping maintenance records accurate and up to date through the CMMS
• Working safely and following engineering best practices
• Supporting continuous improvement, reliability and cost-saving initiatives

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you'll be an apprenticeship-trained Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a Level 3 engineering qualification and a strong electrical bias.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills
• Experience working within a manufacturing, logistics, distribution or automated environment
• Working knowledge of PLC control systems – Siemens S7 would be advantageous
• Experience with automated materials handling systems would be beneficial, but is not essential
• The flexibility to work a 12-hour Days & Nights Panama shift pattern
• The ability and willingness to work at height when required, with full training and appropriate safety equipment provided
