About

We’re looking for a talented Software Developer to join our team at Chauntry. You’ll be a creative problem solver who is passionate about building high-quality software and helping us continue to develop technology used across the airport and parking industry.

Chauntry Ltd is part of BookFlowGo, Holiday Extras Group’s B2B parking technology offering. BookFlowGo brings together pre-booking technology, parking operations software and hardware innovation to help airports, cities and mobility hubs run smarter, more efficient parking operations. Together, Parkspace by Chauntry, ParkIT and Future Generation Services (FGS) create a connected parking ecosystem that helps operators maximise revenue, optimise capacity and make parking more seamless for travellers.

At Chauntry, we’re behind Parkspace, our pre-booking platform that has been supporting airports and parking operators for more than 30 years. Parkspace helps customers sell more spaces, increase ancillary revenue and create better journeys by enabling travellers to pre-book services including parking, fast-track security and lounge access, while integrating with a wide range of third-party platforms.

Our team is focused on building strong customer partnerships, delivering exceptional service and continually improving the technology that powers their pre-booking operations.

If you’ve ever pre-booked an airport parking space, there’s a good chance our technology was working behind the scenes.

The Role:

By joining our team you’ll:

  • Develop new user-facing features for our Parkspace product
  • Build and consume RESTful services and APIs
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Optimise application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Work in a collaborative team with other developers, project managers, graphic designers, testers and stakeholders
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency
  • Ensures all designs and code adhere to the latest security standards and best practices to maintain security integrity

What you can bring to our team:

  • Professional software development experience in a commercial setting
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core
  • Experience with ASP.NET web frameworks (MVC, Blazor, Razor)
  • Extensive experience with SQL, preferably MySQL / MariaDB
  • Good understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Familiarity with IIS and its configuration
  • Demonstrated experience in developing RESTful applications
  • Experience of writing Front End code to be cross-browser, cross-device friendly
  • A focus on Responsive/Adaptive/RESS UI development and where each is most appropriate is crucial
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git / SVN

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and shell scripting, such as Bash
  • Knowledge of unit testing, for example NUnit or xUnit
  • Knowledge of cloud services and infrastructure
