Mechanical Technician

• Perform fire pump testing and inspections per pre-set customer schedules.


• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and minor repairs on fire pump engines/drivers, small motors, and water pumps.


• Major overhauls (e.g., replacing full pump assemblies or pump controllers) are handed off to internal mechanics or outsourced to third-party vendors.

  When no inspections are scheduled, fill time with PMs or repairs. If fire pump work is slow, alternate tasks will be assigned.
  
  

• Perform shop service and field inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair on fixed and portable fire protection systems, suppression systems, and water-based fire equipment.


• Conduct detailed visual inspections and functional testing; report deficiencies and recommended corrective actions to customers.


• Complete all job documentation, inspection reports, billable expenses, and timesheets accurately and secure customer sign-offs for invoicing.

• Petrochemical / Industrial Experience


• Must be physically fit for duty and comfortable working inside industrial pump houses.


• Full schedule flexibility for 35% regional out-of-town travel.

  High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, or refinery environments.
