At Insignia Financial, we're building a new AI Product capability that sits at the intersection of product, engineering and innovation. As an AI Product Engineer, you'll work on some of the most interesting AI opportunities across the business, turning ideas into prototypes, testing assumptions and helping shape what gets built next.
Unlike traditional engineering roles, this isn't about maintaining existing systems or working through a sprint backlog. It's about experimentation, technical discovery and solving complex problems before delivery begins. You'll have the opportunity to work with emerging AI technologies while influencing how AI capabilities evolve across the organisation.
What you'll DoYou'll play a key role in transforming ideas into validated AI solutions, helping the organisation make informed decisions about where and how to invest.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Rapidly prototyping and testing AI product concepts
- Assessing technical feasibility, solution options and architecture approaches
- Reducing technical uncertainty to improve decision making and outcomes
- Translating product ideas into technical spikes, experiments and proof of concepts
- Evaluating data, integration, security, operational and platform requirements
- Working closely with the AI Product Lead and Product Data Scientist to shape solution hypotheses
- Contributing to solution design and technology recommendations
- Helping determine whether opportunities should be built internally or solved through vendor solutions
- Embedding responsible AI, privacy, governance and security considerations into solution design
- Staying current with emerging AI technologies, platforms and industry trends
We're particularly interested in candidates who have worked with AI, Generative AI, machine learning or automation technologies and enjoy solving complex problems through experimentation, rapid prototyping and technical innovation.
You'll bring:
- Experience building prototypes, proof of concepts or technical experiments that validate new technologies, products or ideas
- Strong AI literacy, with hands-on experience using or evaluating Generative AI, machine learning, automation or emerging technology capabilities
- The ability to quickly assess technical feasibility and translate ambiguous business problems into practical solution options
- Experience working across APIs, integrations, cloud platforms and modern technology environments
- Strong software engineering, solution engineering or technical design capability
- Experience evaluating technology products, platforms and vendor solutions, with the ability to understand strengths, limitations and implementation considerations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a bias towards experimentation and evidence-based decision making
- The ability to communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A curious mindset and a passion for exploring new technologies and challenging conventional approaches
