Nimble's Business Operations team is embedded in daily operations, supporting both near-term execution and long-term planning through financial analysis and broader business decision-making and strategy. The team is lean and dynamic, supporting all functions at Nimble: engineering and supply chain, manufacturing, fulfillment operations, service, construction, and sales.

A lot of that work now runs on tools we build ourselves, including capacity planning, customer forecasting, pricing, billing, reporting, candidate sourcing and launch tracking for new warehouses. We build them with AI coding agents like Claude Code, which lets a small team move quickly. This role is for someone who wants to do business operations work and also build the tools behind it.

As an Associate, Business Operations (AI Tooling), you will:

• Work with non-engineering teams across Nimble (operations, finance, sales, supply chain, recruiting, HR and others) to find manual, repetitive work and replace it with tools
• Build and maintain internal tools for capacity planning, customer forecasting, pricing, billing, candidate sourcing and KPI reporting
• Build Slack bots and assistants that answer questions using our warehouse, robot and financial data
• Support your tools after launch: fix issues, help users, and follow up on whether they're being used
• Help the rest of the team get more out of AI coding tools, including our shared Claude Code setup and documentation
• Define and monitor KPIs and keep the data behind them accurate
• Make sure anything that touches billing, customer or employee data, or production systems, has the right review and approvals
• Analyze data and bring recommendations to leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred; Mathematics, Engineering or a related technical field also considered
• 1-3 years of experience in software engineering, data/analytics, solutions engineering, or a technical business operations role
• Understanding of how software is structured (data types, functions, APIs, databases, version control); comfortable using AI agents to write code, and comfortable with REST APIs, Git and the command line
• Examples of projects you've built with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex
• Familiarity with LLM APIs (prompting, tool calling, structured outputs)
• Strong analytical skills and good business judgment
• Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining technical topics to operations teams and executives
• Evidence of exceptional ability, especially in an ambiguous environment
• Creative, intellectually curious, and able to scale steep learning curves quickly

Value-added experience

• Building Slack bots, MCP servers or other tools used by a team
• Web development and deployment (e.g. FastAPI, Postgres, React/TypeScript, Docker)
• Databricks, dbt, or BI tools such as Sigma
• Supply chain, warehousing, logistics or other hard-tech operations
• Internship or early experience in consulting, banking or business operations
• A GitHub profile or personal projects

Additional Requirements

• Travel to our warehouses in Texas and New Jersey a few times a year
• Willing to work extended hours as needed

$120,000 - $160,000 a year

The above range is the base salary range. You will also receive generous equity for this position!
