Exclusive Mandate – Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager (Global Macro)

Octavius Finance has partnered exclusively with one of the world's leading institutional investment organisations to appoint an experienced Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager into its Global Macro investment team, on a retained basis.

This opportunity has arisen following an internal promotion and offers the successful candidate the chance to take on a well-established investment mandate within a highly regarded long-term investment platform.

The role is focused on discretionary macro investing across Emerging Markets, with particular emphasis on local rates, foreign exchange and sovereign fixed income. While CEEMEA experience is highly desirable, the firm is equally interested in investors with broader Emerging Markets expertise spanning Latin America, Asia and other developing markets.

This is a genuine front-office investment role offering significant investment responsibility, meaningful risk allocation and the opportunity to express medium-term macro views across rates, FX and sovereign debt markets within a collaborative institutional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage discretionary Emerging Markets macro portfolios across local rates, FX and sovereign fixed income.

• Develop differentiated macro views across monetary policy, inflation, politics and structural economic trends.

• Translate macro convictions into appropriately sized and risk-managed investment positions.

• Construct and manage portfolios across both linear and non-linear instruments.

• Work alongside a highly regarded global macro investment team while maintaining ownership of investment decisions and portfolio construction.

• Engage with economists, policymakers and market participants to support the investment process.

Requirements

We're interested in speaking with experienced investors who can demonstrate:

• Significant experience managing or contributing to discretionary Emerging Markets investment portfolios within an asset manager, hedge fund, investment bank or other institutional investment environment.

• Strong expertise across Emerging Markets local rates, foreign exchange and sovereign fixed income.

• A fundamental macro investment approach built around medium-term investment themes rather than short-term trading.

• Experience constructing portfolios, managing investment risk and expressing macro views across multiple Emerging Markets.

• Excellent understanding of macroeconomics, monetary policy and political developments across Emerging Markets.

• CEEMEA expertise would be highly advantageous, although candidates with broader Emerging Markets experience across Latin America, Asia or global macro mandates are also encouraged to apply.
