Enterprise AI Lead Product Owner

Inside IR35

4-5 days on site in London

Initial 6 month engagement

We are seeking an exceptional Enterprise Wide AI Lead Product Owner to lead the evolution, adoption and governance of a strategic enterprise AI platform that is already live in production and positioned to scale across a large global organisation.

This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a highly visible AI product that sits at the centre of the organisation's AI strategy. The platform enables users to access and deploy AI-powered agents that can perform tasks, support decision-making and drive productivity at scale.

As the Enterprise Wide AI Lead Product Owner, you will act as the CEO of the product. You will take end-to-end ownership, defining its vision, driving adoption, establishing governance and controls, and ensuring it delivers measurable value across the business. You will be expected to balance strategic leadership with deep technical understanding, influencing executive stakeholders while remaining close to product architecture, delivery and user experience.

This role requires a strong background in AI product management, enterprise-scale transformation and stakeholder engagement within complex environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy & Ownership
  • Define, own and execute the product vision, strategy and roadmap.

  • Lead the product throughout its full lifecycle, from strategy through to adoption and continuous improvement.

  • Evaluate current capabilities, identify new opportunities and drive future product evolution.

  • Develop a clear understanding of where AI can create value across different business functions and establish priorities accordingly.

  • Act as the ultimate product owner, accountable for outcomes, user adoption and business value.

AI Governance, Risk & Controls
  • Design and implement robust governance frameworks for enterprise AI usage.

  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage access, behaviour, compliance and data security requirements.

  • Define guardrails around the use of restricted and sensitive information.

  • Partner with risk, compliance and technology teams to ensure responsible and compliant deployment of AI capabilities.

  • Establish monitoring frameworks and ongoing governance processes to support sustainable adoption.

Product Delivery & Architecture
  • Oversee solution design, architecture and delivery activities.

  • Work closely with engineering, architecture and technology teams to ensure successful product execution.

  • Guide deployment activities and ensure operational readiness across the organisation.

  • Drive product enhancements based on user feedback, performance metrics and strategic objectives.

  • Partner with a large engineering function to deliver enterprise-scale solutions.

User Adoption & Change Management
  • Lead organisation-wide adoption initiatives to maximise platform utilisation.

  • Develop training, enablement and engagement strategies to increase user confidence and capability.

  • Build compelling business cases that demonstrate the value of AI solutions across multiple functions.

  • Influence senior stakeholders to embrace and champion AI transformation initiatives.

  • Drive behavioural change through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.

Executive Stakeholder Management
  • Engage regularly with senior executives, technology leadership and business stakeholders.

  • Present product strategy, governance frameworks and adoption plans at executive and board level.

  • Challenge and influence senior decision-makers through a combination of strategic thinking and detailed product knowledge.

  • Act as the key point of accountability for the platform's success across the enterprise.

Required Experience
  • Significant experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar leadership role within AI-focused environments.

  • Proven track record of owning enterprise-scale products from strategy through deployment and adoption.

  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, AI governance and responsible AI frameworks.

  • Experience defining product roadmaps and delivering technology products in complex organisations.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence large cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging executive and board-level audiences.

  • Strong understanding of product development methodologies and delivery frameworks.

  • Experience balancing strategic business objectives with technical implementation considerations.

  • Ability to operate at both executive and technical levels, moving seamlessly between high-level strategy and detailed product discussions.

Desirable Experience
  • Experience with Agentic AI solutions, AI assistants or enterprise AI platforms.

  • Knowledge of Knowledge-Augmented Generation (KAG), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) or similar AI architectures.

  • Experience designing AI governance, controls and compliance frameworks.

  • Background in customer experience, user adoption or digital transformation programmes.

  • Experience building training and enablement strategies for large user communities.

  • Previous experience working within highly regulated environments.
