Job Description

CEL Critical Power is a global provider of mission-critical power solutions operating at the center of the AI, hyperscale data center and critical infrastructure ecosystem. An Irish-based manufacturer, distributor and exporter of electrical switchgear, controls and related products with over 40 years of experience, CEL is now firmly focused on supplying the global data center industry at scale. Operating from our 500,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Williamsburg, Virginia, we aim to double in size each year for the next three years.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Circuit Breaker Test Technician is responsible for the testing, inspection, troubleshooting and documentation of low-voltage and medium-voltage circuit breakers used in critical power and data center applications.

Scope of Accountability

  • Electrical testing of low-voltage and medium-voltage circuit breakers
  • Primary and secondary injection testing
  • DLRO (Digital Low Resistance Ohmmeter) and insulation resistance testing
  • Troubleshooting and fault identification
  • Test documentation and reporting
  • NFPA 70E compliance

Electrical Testing & Inspection

  • Perform LV and MV breaker testing
  • Primary injection testing
  • Secondary injection testing
  • Contact resistance (DLRO) testing
  • Insulation resistance testing
  • Trip-time and coil testing

Troubleshooting & Documentation

  • Identify and document deficiencies
  • Review results against acceptance criteria
  • Maintain complete test records

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow NFPA 70E practices
  • Use PPE
  • Follow LOTO procedures

Experience

  • 2+ years of electrical, commissioning, testing or related experience
  • Experience testing LV/MV breakers preferred
  • Military electrical experience valued

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. NETA certification preferred not required.

Skills & Competencies

Circuit breaker testing, troubleshooting, electrical schematics, documentation, safety compliance.
