QA Analyst – Python / Laboratory Quality Assurance

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst to support software quality assurance, laboratory data validation, and quality program compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing Python code, validating data operations, assessing laboratory procedures, and ensuring compliance with established quality standards.

This role combines technical quality assurance with laboratory quality control, analytical data review, and documentation. The analyst will help improve laboratory information management system (LIMS) workflows, validate analytical calculations, and review chemistry testing procedures for accuracy and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Software Quality Assurance & Python

• Review, revise, and improve existing Python code and data operations for efficiency and integration with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

• Review new and modified programs, specifications, and documentation to verify that they meet user requirements and established standards.

• Identify software discrepancies, recommend corrections, and suggest improvements to developers.

• Evaluate application functionality and identify gaps between established standards and user requirements.

Laboratory Quality Assurance

• Develop, review, and improve quality assurance procedures based on established laboratory testing methods.

• Review chemistry testing data packages to verify accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with applicable requirements.

• Evaluate laboratory procedures for deviations from published analytical methods.

• Review accuracy and reproducibility data used to validate laboratory test results.

• Assess laboratory workflows and recommend improvements to support efficient operations.

• Review chemical inventory management systems and related procedures.

Data Validation & Documentation

• Validate Excel spreadsheets used for analytical calculations.

• Review laboratory records, testing documentation, specifications, and quality procedures.

• Support annual competency reviews for laboratory chemists across multiple analytical methods.

• Maintain accurate quality assurance documentation and identify areas requiring corrective action.

• Ensure laboratory data and procedures follow applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Approximately 1–3 years of experience in quality assurance, quality analysis, software QA, laboratory QA, or a related field.

• Familiarity with quality assurance concepts, practices, and procedures.

• Ability to review software functionality, documentation, and technical specifications.

• Experience with data review, validation, accuracy checks, and discrepancy identification.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and guidelines.

• Good analytical, organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python code review or data processing.

• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), particularly STARLIMS.

• Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance, chemistry testing methods, and analytical data validation.

• Experience with Excel spreadsheet validation and analytical calculations.

• Familiarity with laboratory quality standards, method compliance, chemical inventory systems, and competency assessments.

• Exposure to environmental, public health, food safety, or other regulated laboratory environments.
