Looking for a Principle / Staff level AI engineer. There is a lot of experience below. The ideal candidate is a hands-on AI engineer who has experience building agents that can reason toward a goal, interact with applications and APIs, take actions, and operate within a production environment.

Strong full-stack development skills are equally important. The role will help build both the AI/agent capabilities and the technician-facing user experience that allows people to effectively interact with the solution.

AI Engineer / Full-Stack Developer

Position Overview

TRIMEDX is seeking an AI Engineer / Full-Stack Developer to join a high-visibility initiative focused on building production-ready, goal-driven AI agents that reduce the administrative and digital workload placed on technicians.

This is not a traditional data science or LLM experimentation position. The ideal candidate is a hands-on AI engineer who has experience building agents that can reason toward a goal, interact with applications and APIs, take actions, and operate within a production environment.

Strong full-stack development skills are equally important. The role will help build both the AI/agent capabilities and the technician-facing user experience that allows people to effectively interact with the solution.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, build, and enhance goal-driven AI agents capable of taking real-world digital actions.
• Turn an initial proof of concept into a production-ready agentic solution.
• Develop workflows where AI agents can complete multi-step tasks independently while incorporating human approval when required.
• Build intuitive, technician-facing interfaces rather than focusing exclusively on back-end AI functionality.
• Develop integrations between AI agents and enterprise systems using APIs.
• Use Python as part of AI, automation, integration, and application development.
• Work with Anthropic's enterprise Claude platform to develop and enhance AI capabilities.
• Partner with team members focused on AI engineering, Snowflake/data engineering, and ServiceNow.
• Help determine the right architecture and technical approach as the project evolves rather than simply implementing predefined application features.
• Build solutions with production readiness, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability in mind.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on AI engineering experience.
• Experience building AI agents, ideally solutions that have progressed beyond experimentation or basic LLM usage toward production-ready applications.
• Strong understanding of agentic AI concepts and terminology.
• Experience developing solutions where agents can reason, set or work toward goals, invoke tools or APIs, and take actions.
• Strong full-stack software development experience, including both back-end development and user-facing application development.
• Strong Python knowledge and an understanding of how Python can be applied to AI-driven solutions.
• Experience designing, developing, and consuming APIs.
• Understanding of LLMs and modern generative AI architectures.
• Solid data science fundamentals.
• Ability to work in an evolving environment where requirements and technical approaches may change as the team learns.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss technical decisions, trade-offs, and the future direction of AI with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following would be beneficial, but is not required:

• AI integrations with enterprise applications

ServiceNow expertise is not required coming into the role. The team can teach the platform-specific pieces.

What Success Looks Like

The right person will be more than an LLM developer, data scientist, or traditional full-stack engineer. TRIMEDX is looking for someone who understands how the different pieces of an AI-driven application fit together.

For example, an agent could independently complete a series of preventive-maintenance steps for a technician and then pause at a regulatory control point to request human confirmation before proceeding. The goal is to create an intelligent partner for technicians that can take meaningful work off their plates while keeping people appropriately involved in critical decisions.

The team describes the vision as “Jarvis to Iron Man”: AI should act as a capable partner to the technician rather than simply another application they have to operate.
