Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

Join an early-stage AI company building software for procurement and supply chain operations. You will work directly with manufacturing customers to deploy AI-powered workflows, ship production code, and help shape a repeatable deployment approach.

What You'll Do

• Work with customer IT, supply chain, and procurement teams to identify and scope new workflows and use cases.

• Build and ship production code in customer environments, extending solutions in ways that can serve the broader customer base.

• Lead technical deployments from discovery through go-live and take ownership of operational outcomes.

• Travel to customer facilities, including internationally, to work alongside operators and support adoption.

• Bring lessons from customer deployments back to platform engineering to improve future implementations.

What We're Looking For

• One to five years of experience in customer-facing full-stack or forward-deployed engineering, with a strong software engineering foundation.

• Experience scoping end-to-end workflow or automation deployments, gathering requirements, and shipping solutions into production customer environments.

• Proficiency with Python or a similar programming language, SQL, APIs, and messy enterprise data; familiarity with ERP systems, LLMs, AI agents, or supply chain platforms is useful.

• Ability to translate ambiguous problems into technical specifications, identify new use cases, and own customer relationships and production outcomes.

• Comfort working independently in an early-stage environment with limited process, and willingness to travel internationally about 15% to 30% of the time.

• Strong computer science fundamentals and interest or experience in manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $175,000 to $255,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. Equity and other benefits were not specified.

On-site in San Francisco, California, five days per week.
