Veterinary Technician – Internal Medicine

Compensation: $28-$40, based on experience and qualifications

VERG Brooklyn is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing Internal Medicine team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our internists to care for patients with complex medical needs. You’ll assist with advanced procedures, provide hands-on nursing care, and help clients feel informed and supported throughout their pet’s treatment.

What You’ll Do

As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you’ll support appointments, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and ongoing patient care.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, including GI, nasal, and airway scopes.
• Supporting advanced imaging and other diagnostic procedures.
• Placing IV catheters and assisting with endotracheal intubation and anesthetic induction.
• Preparing, cleaning, and maintaining specialized scope equipment.
• Monitoring patients and providing attentive nursing care throughout their visit.
• Gathering patient histories and communicating updates to the Internal Medicine team.
• Reviewing discharge instructions with clients and teaching at-home care, including subcutaneous fluids, insulin injections, and feeding tube management, as directed by the veterinarian.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and collaborating with other departments to coordinate patient care.

What You Bring

You have strong veterinary nursing skills, close attention to detail, and an interest in complex medical cases. Internal Medicine or other specialty experience is preferred.

You’re someone who:

• Provides compassionate, attentive patient care.
• Is confident with IV catheter placement and comfortable assisting with anesthesia and advanced diagnostics.
• Communicates clearly and kindly with clients and coworkers.
• Stays organized while managing multiple patients and priorities.
• Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Is eager to learn and continue growing in specialty medicine.

This position follows a four-day, 10-hour shift schedule. Specific days and hours will be discussed during the interview process.
