Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEHC is currently looking for** Shipping & Receiving Supervisors **for a client in the south Houston, TX area. Shifts:1st Shift: 5:00 am - 3:00 pm2nd Shift: 2:30 pm - 12:30 pm +$2.00 shift differentialJob Summary:Leads day-to-day operational activities pertaining to the Yard. Ensures material is picked, packed, shipped on time and in an efficient manner. Effectively delegate’s workload to department leads and personnel. All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities:Ensure all department equipment is in proper working condition (forklifts, pickers, crane, hand tools, etc.)Effectively communicates with department supervisors and upper management. Utilizes email to communicate with Receiving, Front Office, and Sales Departments. Manages Daily operational reports to identify workload and utilize OT as needed. Coordinates with Sales on any request, priority levels, and any issues that may arise.

Coordinates with Logistics on outbound shipments (flatbeds, Motor freight, hot shots, etc.).Coordinates with QC on material discrepancies and non-conforming stock material. Process and handles picking tickets by effectively communicating with Sales, Department Supervisors, and QC.Supports Will-call traffic by efficiently loading orders in a timely manner. Manages loading dock space daily by communicating with Logistics and Sales. Effectively trains personnel on company processes and procedures, submits training records, and identifies areas that need additional training.

Attends production meetings to identify departmental issues and discuss ways to correct them. Identifies areas of improvement while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Manages shipping personnel on picking, packing, checking, and shipping processes.

Effectively organizes and manages a team of 7 to 10 employeesDuties are not limited to those described above and may be expanded as neededMaterials Verification and Documentation:Visual InspectionHeat number(s) of each line item written on the Product ReleaseMarking on the material matches what is written on the releaseProduct release is properly filled outEnsure information on the wrapped pallet is properly writtenEnsure the BOL is placed on the correct orders prior to shipmentCoordinate with Sales:Quality Changes on OrdersHot ShipmentsCancelation RequestsShip viaMaterial Discrepancy’sOrder SubstitutionsProject OrdersWill Calls and Small Parcel Shipments:Ensure vehicles are correctly loaded in a timely mannerPhoto verification of each shipment leaving the shipping the docsVerify all Small Parcel Shipments are packaged correctly, labelled, and sent UPS same dayShipping Dock:Ensure dock is organized and clear for forklift trafficAll shipments are placed in the correct lanes for shipmentDaily Checks for missed shipmentsDepartment Responsibilities:Quality Management Systems:Train on Department Work Instructions & Job ScopeTrain on Quality Policy and Department ProcessesProcess FlowConduct meetings and submit training recordsQuarterly competency reviews on personnelEffectively identify areas that need additional trainingSafety:Hold brief daily safety meetings with department personnelMaintain clear aisle ways and organize racks and dock spaceMaintain equipment checklistsQuarterly maintenance on equipment (hand tools, pickers, forklifts, etc.)Enforces and monitors “Lock-out/Tag-out” protocolCommunicates equipment breakdowns and safety hazards to upper management and HSEOngoing responsibility of creating and implementing a safe work environmentQualifications:Speak and read EnglishBilingual: Spanish preffered3+ years PVF industry experienceAbility to read and understand industry specifications, charts, and tablesHigh school diploma or GEDBasic computer skills.

Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferredMust have average reading, writing, and mathematical skillsCapable of lifting 50 lbs.
