Restaurant Captain
Quick Overview
Job Description
About Us:
The Morris Proper is a full-service restaurant and bar located in the heart of Morristown from Chelsea Hospitality Group. The menu, crafted by award-winning chefs, highlights ingredients sourced from New Jersey and the surrounding areas, showcasing a sincere and nourishing approach to local cuisine.
Chelsea Hospitality Group is proud to be part of the Dartcor Enterprises family of businesses —a purpose-led organization redefining hospitality as a force for connection, culture, and community. Alongside our sister brands, Dartcor Hospitality and Ōme Caterers, we’re part of a broader ecosystem that brings hospitality to life across workplace, event, and restaurant experiences.
Together, we’re reimagining what hospitality can do—for people, for places, and for the future.
What You'll Do:
· Take Ownership of the Table: Own the entire guest journey from first greeting to final farewell—taking the order, firing courses, guiding guests through the menu, and orchestrating seamless service at every table in your section.
· Master the Menu: Maintain expert knowledge of every dish, its ingredients, and preparation, offering thoughtful recommendations and answering guest questions with authority.
· Deliver Expert Wine & Liquor Service: Guide guests through the wine list and spirits selection, execute proper bottle and beverage service, and make confident pairings that elevate the meal.
· Stay Guest-Focused: Create memorable guest experiences that turn first-time visitors into loyal, returning guests, staying connected to feedback and seeking out every opportunity to make each visit better than the last.
· Work as a Team: Pull together with both the front-of-house and kitchen staff, communicating clearly, supporting one another, and staying aligned so service runs smoothly.
· Direct Your Support Team: Coordinate with servers, runners, and bussers to keep your section running smoothly, delegating with clarity and grace.
What You'll Get From Us:
- $6.05/Hour + gratuity
- Comprehensive health and wellness benefits
- Paid Time Off
- An opportunity to build and shape a singular hospitality operation from the ground up
- A principles-driven environment that prizes warmth, refinement, and consistent execution
