Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Epic Ambulatory Principal Trainer to support a six-month Epic implementation and training engagement. The ideal candidate will bring strong Epic Ambulatory expertise, hands-on training and build experience, and the ability to translate complex clinical and business requirements into effective training and digital learning solutions.
The Principal Trainer will play a key role in developing and delivering training, supporting MST build, creating e-learning and digital content, and partnering with clinical, business, and technical stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Work Arrangement: Approximately 80% Remote / Up to 20% Onsite Travel

The Principal Trainer will play a key role in developing and delivering training, supporting MST build, creating e-learning and digital content, and partnering with clinical, business, and technical stakeholders throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Work Arrangement: Approximately 80% Remote / Up to 20% Onsite Travel
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Principal Trainer for Epic Ambulatory, supporting training strategy, curriculum development, delivery, and end-user readiness.
- Develop and maintain training materials, including e-learning, digital content, instructor-led training, job aids, workflows, and supporting documentation.
- Provide hands-on support for MST Build, ensuring training environments and content accurately reflect configured Epic workflows.
- Conduct requirements gathering and analyze business, functional, and technical requirements to translate organizational needs into effective Epic solutions and training programs.
- Document requirements and workflows using process models, data models, flowcharts, workflow diagrams, and other appropriate documentation.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, application, and technical teams to ensure training aligns with organizational workflows and Epic functionality.
- Support testing, validation, issue resolution, and implementation readiness activities.
- Communicate complex technical and clinical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, including clinicians, operational leaders, application teams, and end users.
- Contribute to full life-cycle Epic implementations, including discovery, design, build, testing, training, go-live, and post-production support.
- Travel onsite, as needed, for key implementation, training, testing, and go-live activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Epic Ambulatory Principal Trainer.
- Current Epic certification required.
- TED 305 certification required.
- Hands-on MST Build experience.
- Strong experience developing e-learning and digital training content.
- 2-5 years of Epic EMR and/or clinical applications experience.
- Strong business, functional, and technical requirements analysis and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate requirements through process models, data models, flowcharts, workflow documentation, and related artifacts.
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting at least two full life-cycle Epic implementations.
- Clinical background or direct experience working within clinical environments.
- Experience supporting Epic Ambulatory implementations in complex healthcare organizations.
- Experience with testing, workflow validation, end-user readiness, and go-live support.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional implementation teams.
