The Store Manager leads day-to-day retail operations for an Aspen Snowmass Rental Retail-operated The North Face store, delivering an elevated brand and guest experience while driving sales, profitability, and operational excellence. This role oversees staffing, merchandising, inventory, and expense management to ensure the store consistently meets brand and company standards. The Store Manager builds and develops a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, and succession planning. This position reports to the General Manager of Stores.
- The budgeted salary range for this position is $64,800 - $75,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day store operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and point-of-sale transactions, to ensure efficient and compliant store operations
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise store staff to maintain appropriate staffing levels and team performance
- Monitor sales and key performance metrics against store goals, adjusting team execution and store operations to achieve profitability targets
- Lead and coach the sales team on customer engagement, product knowledge, and The North Face brand service standards on the sales floor
- Manage store expenses, including labor budget, supply costs, and shrink, to protect company assets and control costs
- Implement visual merchandising standards and seasonal floor-sets in accordance with The North Face brand guidelines
- Conduct inventory management, including receiving, cycle counts, and loss prevention audits, to maintain inventory accuracy
- Respond to and resolve escalated customer feedback and service issues to maintain store service standards
- Deliver ongoing performance feedback and coaching, and develop succession plans, for store staff
- Ensure store compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable employment regulations
- Partner with the General Manager of Stores and Rental Retail leadership on store-level reporting, brand-partner communications, and cross-functional initiatives

Education & Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
- 4–7 years of experience in retail, hospitality, or guest service environments required
- 2–3 years of experience in a multi-unit or store-level management role leading teams required
- Demonstrated experience managing high-volume retail operations preferred
- Experience overseeing labor budgets, scheduling, or operational reporting preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of retail store operations, including POS systems, inventory management, and loss prevention practices.
- Knowledge of The North Face brand standards, product assortment, and visual merchandising guidelines.
- Skill in coaching, motivating, and holding a team accountable to sales and service goals.
- Skill in analyzing sales and operational reports to identify trends and drive store performance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, staff, and brand/regional leadership.
- Ability to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced, guest-focused retail environment.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on peak retail and ski-season demand.
Supervision Given and Received
Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Supervision Received: Works under direct supervision of Snow Cubs Coordinator. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling and bending may be required
- Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions. Some positions require exposure to outdoor elements or a combination of both indoors and outdoors and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
