Data Engineer

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Data Engineer.

Position type: Full-time, Contract (W2)

Duration: 12+ months

Location: Brooklyn Park, Minnesota  (Hybrid)

As a Data Engineer, you will:

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows for large-volume datasets.
• Build and optimize distributed data processing solutions using Apache Spark and Google Cloud Platform Dataproc.
• Develop and maintain analytical datasets and data processing workloads using BigQuery.
• Build reliable batch and/or streaming data processing solutions using technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
• Develop ingestion and transformation pipelines across source systems, data lakes, and analytical platforms.
• Optimize Spark and BigQuery workloads for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot production data pipelines, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational controls.
• Apply software engineering and DevOps practices, including source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
• Collaborate with data architects, platform engineers, application teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into production data solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to reusable frameworks and engineering best practices.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Apache Hadoop , Apache Hive, Apache Spark, Apache spark ecosystem, Big Data.
• Data Engineering, ETL, Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, Google Cloud Platform Data Proc.
• DataProc, GCS, Google Cloud Platform, Looker, Power BI, Dev Ops.
• Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform Dataproc.
• Experience in Python and/or Java/Scala.

Pay Range*: $70 - $75 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
