Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Events Manager to join a well-established national charity on a 9-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. This role will be responsible for delivering key fundraising events, including a flagship virtual fundraising challenge and a major marathon programme, while managing an Events Executive and contributing to the development of new fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and manage fundraising events to achieve recruitment, participation and income targets
- Lead on a flagship virtual fundraising challenge and oversee a major marathon fundraising programme
- Line manage and support an Events Executive
- Build and maintain relationships with supporters, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers and internal stakeholders
- Develop and deliver multi-channel communications and marketing campaigns
- Manage event budgets, project plans and operational delivery
- Coordinate event logistics, participant journeys and volunteer engagement activities
- Monitor event performance and implement improvements to maximise fundraising income and supporter retention
- Ensure all events comply with relevant legal, health and safety, and insurance requirements
- Lead stakeholder meetings and provide regular updates on event progress and performance
- Support the development and launch of new fundraising products
- Contribute to wider fundraising objectives across the organisation's events portfolio
- Identify and resolve operational challenges throughout the event lifecycle
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience delivering successful fundraising or participation events
- Demonstrable experience growing event participation and income
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Previous experience managing or supervising staff
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience developing supporter engagement and marketing campaigns
- Competent budget management skills
- Experience using CRM, fundraising or event management systems
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Comfortable working occasional evenings and weekends when required
- Full UK driving licence desirable
- Empathy with the organisation's charitable objectives would be advantageous
Location: Victoria, London
Working Pattern: Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 office days every 2 weeks
Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)
Length: 9-Month FTC (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Start Date: August/September
